THE LAWN

The Caro Bowl double header event at Parnell was a massive success last Friday night! An overwhelming turnout of guests and members came to enjoy some exceptional tennis matches played by the Head men's team and Little Island women.

Incredible thanks to BBQ Chef Sean Brown for grilling up an impressive number of delicious burgers (90) and sausages (70)! His contribution was a highlight of the evening.

A huge thank you to the dedicated helpers in the kitchen: Liz Bell, Phi Dennis, Kat & Charlie Bamford, and Julie Turner. Their efforts behind the scenes were crucial in making the event successful. Also, special thanks to Feleti for his efforts in sourcing the food, organising it, and making the night happen.

Let's not overlook the essential roles of Hamish Thomson, Taylor Brown and Pavlina Nola- team managers whose efforts and coordination have been instrumental in ensuring the smooth running of the event. Applause to everyone involved for making the Caro Bowl double header at Parnell a memorable and enjoyable occasion!

With two rounds remaining, the Head Men's team is sitting at the top of the table on 32, one point clear of 2nd placed Cockle Bay and five points ahead of Next Generation and Royal Oak.

The Little Island Women's team also lead their competition and is on 24 points with three rounds remaining. It's a tight race, with only 3 points separating the top four teams: PLTC, Next Generation, Bucklands Beach and Cockle Bay.

Congratulations to our men's team for securing an impressive 5-1 victory against Remuera! Ishan Naik stepped into the team and partnered with Kyle to clinch a win in the doubles. Despite Ishan facing a tough battle and ultimately losing his singles match after a thrilling comeback, it was a great match to watch, and we commend his efforts.

The turnout of around 30-40 people on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon created a fantastic atmosphere for the event. Feleti deserves a big round of applause for doing a tremendous job providing food and contributing to the overall success of our gathering.

It's exciting to note that another two fixtures are scheduled for Friday the 17th. Our girls are all set to play at home against Kohi, while the boys will play at Karaka. The action starts at 6 pm.
