HAPPY NEW YEAR - Year of the Dragon.

We are well into the new year and have so much to be excited about for the coming mid-summer season.

PLTC co-hosted an amazing National Masters tournament over the past weekend. The club and grounds are just looking incredible, and we had a huge turnout of supporters and players at the club. The event also provided considerable financial benefit to the club at a time of year that is traditionally very quiet. A massive effort by all the incredible volunteers - Angela, Gail, Karine, Liz, Lyndall, Sean and Phi, as well as our champion manager Feleti and bar staff, who made sure to produce an excellent showcase for our club. We have the annual much-coveted PLTC CLUB CHAMPS ahead. Be sure to enter as many events as you can. It's such a fun way to get a lot of tennis against players you might not normally hit with. There are many varying events to choose from, so take a look at the board in the clubroom and sign up now. Partner up or single it out and bring your A game! Click here to register

Midweek Ladies will be back for our usual tournament day Wednesday 7th being the first Wednesday in the month.

Juniors please note the dates for interclub, 11th Feb and do send in results each week. Get in touch with your team manager for updates.

The annual Waiheke Challenge played on January 20th and was a hosted this year by PLTC. A first win for PLTC this year! Congratulations to you all. A day to remember and the weather was perfect. Plenty of nutritious food brought in and yet another superb event with fantastic support and helpers in both the kitchen and clubroom. We look forward to a rematch on the Island next year to retain the title! Scroll below for photo.

An Exciting Update on the Lighting Project

After quotes from six different groups, the committee has now made a decision on the supplier and installer for the lights. We are expecting to have an official contract signed in the coming days. Look for a more detailed email on the lighting project once we have the contract signed.

With regards our fundraising drive, we have already received just over $26,000 in donations - a huge thank you to all of you who have donated! Any last-minute donations will still be very gratefully accepted, regardless of value, so if you feel that you would like to add a small amount to your next bar bill, that would be fantastic. Alternatively, direct donations can be made to our fundraising account at 12-3086-0079277-50.

WEEKLY… AT PLTC

WEDNESDAY CLUB NIGHT

5.45pm for 6pm every Wednesday evening - Check “The App’ for weather. Fabulous sessions of fun and active-paced “Drill” type sessions and then a chance to play some doubles. Followed by a beverage and a piece of Sal's pizza. Do keep an eye on our APP alert to confirm we will be playing. Ideal for new members. Also, remind anyone who may be interested in joining PLTC that this is a great way to get a good feel for the club and its facilities.

MID WEEK LADIES

Enjoy a fun Wednesday morning of social tennis with the Ladies. 9:30am each Wednesday morning, weather permitting. We welcome all Ladies of any ability. Note first Wednesday of each month is a mini tournament day bring a small plate offering.
