Dear Members As we head into the holiday season, you will have all noticed the bustle of activity on courts 5&6 as Heineken sets up for the Heineken Silver promotion over December and January. November has been a very busy month at PLTC - the great weather has meant very busy courts, and the final rounds of Caro Bowl provided lots of excitement. December is also packed with activities, including our Xmas Karaoke dinner, the launch Club Silver, and the Celebrity Big Serve event, sponsored by Working Style and Mercedes-Benz Auckland. Caro Bowl Finals 2025 |

The finals of the 2025 Caro Bowl were played on Friday 28 November, with Parnell taking on the old foe NextGen in both the women's and men's finals. The men's final was played indoors at NextGen, with the women's final being hosted at PLTC in front of a huge crowd of 150-200 people. Despite a valiant effort, our Head men's team were beaten 5-1 by the very strong NextGen team. A massive shout-out to Jacob Warren, who defeated ex-touring pro Rob Reynolds in a tight three-set match to pick up our sole point. The women's final was a very exciting affair - after splitting the doubles matches, the score was tied at 1-1 as all four single matches commenced. The big crowd was treated to a very polished performance from the Bayleys Parnell team, who wrapped up the top three single matches in straight sets, with Natalie Sanchez, Emily Fanning and Sarah Wardenburg all playing some incredible tennis. This gave PLTC an unassailable lead and another Caro Bowl title! Congratulations to Taylor Brown and her team for securing back-to-back titles. Mark Lewis from Tennis Auckland presented the trophy to Taylor and her team on court one, and that was followed by a special presentation to Pavlina Nola, who has decided to finally retire from Caro Bowl tennis, having played 20 seasons and won 8 Caro Bowl titles for Parnell. Thank you Pav, you have made us all proud! The presentation was followed by lengthy celebrations in the clubhouse, which continued well into the early hours! A massive thank you to our sponsors for this year's Caro Bowl teams. The women's team was sponsored by Bayleys, who have signed up to support the women's team for at least two years. The men's team were sponsored by Head, as well as Sal's Pizza and Innoway Cleaning Supplies (our very own Nick Turner and Rob Goddard). Club Silver by Heineken I am sure you will all be very aware of the frantic activity that has been taking place on court five over the past week. This summer, PLTC will become the home of “Club Silver”, a Heineken-branded outdoor lounge and bar experience that will run across December and January. Courts five and six will be transformed into a relaxed social space, used by Heineken for a select number of private events, and also open to the public and all of us on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the activation. Club Silver will be live from this Thursday 4 December. Full details are available on the Heineken Club Silver website. |

This holiday season, Chris Dobbs from Working Style is once again putting together a not-to-be-missed tennis extravaganza - The Celebrity Big Serve: an evening where fashion, tennis, and glamour meet. Enjoy celebrity return-serve challenges, and pro exhibition matches featuring top-100 doubles stars James Watt and Finn Reynolds, newly ranked inside the world's top 100 and now eligible for Grand Slam entry. The night continues with live music from Peter Urlich, and hosting by Michael Venus and Seb Lavie. Guests receive a glass of H. Lanvin & Fils on arrival. Congratulations to Audrey Tran Audrey Tran, a member of our victorious Bayleys Caro Bowl team, has just completed a very special year - well done Audrey! After being named a College Sport Young Sportsperson of the Year finalist in 2024, she returned in 2025 to claim the top honour. |

Housekeeping Matters 1. Please note, our old email address (pltc@xtra.co.nz) is being discontinued. Please update your email contact lists 2. Wednesday Club Night - the final club night will be Wednesday 10 December. The following Wednesday will be the Celebrity Big Serve event. Wednesday club night will resume following the Christmas holiday break. 3. Locks - during the Club Silver activation, all gates onto the upper bay courts will be locked following the completion of play each night for security reasons. A security guard will be on site 24/7 during the Club Silver promotion. 4. For security reasons, the gate beside court 4 will also be locked during the holiday period.
